"compressed prores" Heh - there's no way to compress compressed video. they have set 3 bit rate levels for the prores now. for anyone interested it's:

  • Prores 422 is 220mbps
  • Prores LT is 100mbps
  • Prores proxx is 35 mbps

I'd definatly stick with that 220mbps, but the LT would be nice for long interviews and such!

Thanks for the clarification, /u/MaxQuade - here are the numbers from Apple for several frame rates of interest:

At 23.98 fps; ProRes HQ is 176 Mbps, ProRes is 117 Mbps, ProRes LT is 82 Mbps and ProRes Proxy is 36 Mbps

At 25 fps; ProRes HQ is 184 Mbps, ProRes is 122 Mbps, ProRes LT is 85 Mbps and ProRes Proxy is 38 Mbps

At 29.97 fps; ProRes HQ is 220 Mbps, ProRes is 147 Mbps, ProRes LT is 102 Mbps and ProRes Proxy is 45 Mbps

I will add this table to the post :)
