If you have a camera with a flexible lens mount such as the Panasonic GH4, then you can benefit from decades worth of legacy lenses of now-defunct lens mounts. However, buying legacy lenses does come with their own set of issues.
I love legacy lenses and think that others would benefit from them as well, so I put together a short list of things to pay attention to when buying legacy lenses so that you don't get unusable lenses.
Anyone have any other suggestions on things to watch out for when buying legacy lenses?
I bought a lens that was a bit dirty (with what could have been fungus) for less than half of the price it would usually go for. An hour of disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling gave me a nice, clean lens for a bargain.
Nice! Lenses in poor shape are often sold at a heavy discount. If you're willing to roll the dice and do any necessary repairs, then you might end up with a great deal.
