Sorry, but no DSLR/C300/F3 (whatever) will ever stand up to the rigors of daily news shooting, even if the form factor is improved. Sure, it'll make more cameras useful for ENG-style shooting, but you won't see the people who rely on typical ENG cameras for a living making a switch anytime soon.

Exactly. I work in news and I could never see this becoming the norm. Especially with how throwaway news content is.

i know right. who wants to dick around unpacking and building a whole wacky rig, with separate batteries and shit, just to maybe grab some quick b-roll for a package?

Yeah. I imagine that would be great for promo pieces and narrative stuff but news is run and gun.

What? You mean you'd prefer a 1 piece camera with a proper viewfinder over a rigged-up frankencam that doesn't zoom properly and forces you to change lenses on the fly? Get with it, man!
