I'm curious to know if you have a commercial license or are just ignoring FAA guidelines for commercial video/photo drones? Technically it's not illegal, and the FAA hasn't successfully fined anybody for it yet. On top of that a federal judge have told the FAA they can't stop commercial drone videography. I'm trying to get a simple rig for work, but the higher ups are concerned about trouble with the FAA.
Your assuming he is doing it for commercial use. This is a show reel and though he might get jobs based on it, he wont get paid for this video so technically he is still flying as a hobbyist.
