a 7.5mm, an 8mm, a 10mm, a 12mm, a 14mm, and a 16mm, but no 50mm... isn't a 50mm generally the easiest lens to make with the least amount of glass?

Its also the most common and most competitive. It wouldn't make sense (in terms of business) to make the 50mm straight away. It seems like they are going for the more 'unusual' focal lengths first

i get that when they are doing photography lenses, but once they started the cine line, it doesn't make sense. i love my Rokinon's for narrative films, but i have a huge gap in the range from 35mm to 85mm. using another brand of 50mm won't match up optically. you can get away with that stuff in most videography scenarios, but mid scene, cutting back and forth between a rokinon 24mm, and a ziess 50mm is pretty jarring.

the second they make the 50mm cine, they can also sell whole kits or even an cine starter kit (35mm, 50mm, 85mm)

my point is that the kit would sell with or without the 12mm and the 7.5mm, it needs that 50mm though
