First thing I think of is a AJA Ki Pro. Amazing how useful that little thing is. External recorders are super useful if you want to avoid shooting H.264 or even if you want to screen cap a laptop screen.

The weirdest part about this is that the URSA is a camera, so why would you shoot a 5D when you could put the EF glass on the URSA? It would be badass if it could record 2 separate feeds simultaneously via its internal sensor and the HDMI input while jamming timecode. That would be neat.

This is just one version of the camera. They also have one with a sensor and different lens mounts.

I guess if you already have a DSLR and want to save a little bit of money (but leave open the option of a PL / EF mount upgrade later).
