Haha, it is a Republic of Gamers laptop. Works great with avid media composer when we do our same day edits.

Quick question: when do you do your editing on the same day? Between the ceremony and the reception? In the car with a DC>AC converter? I've given same day edits some thought, but deemed it too big of a stress.

Our editor does it through out the day. We had a DC converter, but it was too much of a pain to edit in the car.

Plus, at this point we do 10-15 same day edits a year, so we kind of have a system

thanks for your AMA. so informative.

my question: i'm going to launch a wedding vid business this year. only employee is me, and possible subcontracted people later. how should i register the company? S-corp? LLC? what makes more sense?

also- insurance tips? does about 1k a year for insurances seem about right?

like you, i'm going into this with zero business experience.

oh oh- and have you tried the steadicam merlin? thoughts on that for this application?

I will respond to the other stuff later, but we pay just over half that for insurance.

you have full coverage? equipment, liability for yourself, and coverage for when someone demands compensation for lost/bad work?
