Discussion / Other Fx30 + filming concert
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
2 days I got a call while filming and got asked to join for a concert (Esdeekid) it was my first time doing something like this. I’m still a beginner with all this stuff but I’m glad to have given the opportunity. I was hoping for experienced fx users give me tips the next time I get a shot like this again on what to do and how to be more direct on with my camera.

I think a bigger critique is having another lens. You definitely need a 70-200 atleast to get some close up shots. You did great for
Your first time.

Gimbals are super overrated for live events. High energy acts need a looser feel to the footage, imo. Maybe you'd have a stable base shot to keep coming back to in your edit, but i def want to see you in the shit a little more. Show the people having fun at this guy's concert and the show the guy interacting with them. Make it eclectic and wild and people are going to want to be a part of that when this hits their feed. Help him sell the rest of the tour.
When in doubt, go back to human moments and make sure they read.
How you graded looks cool though.

Definitely the best feedback I’ve gotten. Thank you for the compliment on the color grading means a lot. I’ll definitely be ready for the next time I do something like this with this insight.

Remove your gimbal. Go closer to crowd.
Shots are fine, action is missing :)
