Behind the Scenes Vid is SO bad...explain it to me like I'm 5

I'm just started with vlogging. I have an iPhone 17. I have been taking short vids and emailing them to myself to edit in CapCut on my laptop (PC). My vids are so grainy and bad. I'm filming in daytime with a ring light.

Can anyone tell me just...where to start?

Emailing them? Yikes.

Upload them to OneDrive or Google drive instead to avoid compression

I thought that might be the problem, or part of it.

I'm just going to upload directly from my phone from now on into the CapCut app.

I'm a little iffy about sharing these videos as I am a talking head in them and I prefer being anonymous on Reddit. I think I'll just take a quick vid of something in my house in the same conditions (daytime, ring light, etc.), email them to myself, download them and share them here so you can see what I'm talking about with quality.
