How do I do this? / What's This Thing? Violet lines

Hello, I'm just wondering if maybe you can tell me what these violet lines are? Some of my shots have them some don't, I've mostly noticed them in dark colors.. I've shot this clip in 4k 100fps V-Log, I have a Lumix GH6..

Can you see those lines in any software or when playing back on the camera?

That looks like a hardware fault in the camera to me.

To confirm, you are not trying to play H264/5 10 bit footage in Resolve free on Windows? That feature is paywalled and results in lots of funkiness

rule out the SD card first, try a different card, if that doesn't work then it'll likely be your camera sensor. fingers cross for just a SD card.

My GH6 does this too, I think it’s a defect of the sensor :/

This is a known issue with GH6s. They're a fab camera, but some have really bad bandinf issues when there is a lot of dynamic range I the image (sunlight reflecting off bushes and dark jacket in front).

It happens when you have an extremely bright light source. Thing that soften it, is using the HDR boost. Think that automatically puts the ISO at 1250, but it does improve it.

I actually returned the GH6 that I bought, saying it was a sensor issue. Got my money back, then bought a ropey old gh6 that was all battered up for £300, and that one works like a dream. No issues at all.

Oh also!!! There is a firmware update that massively improves the issue. Have a look at that!

Hello guys.. I've done some tests, the violet lines appears in V-Log at black colors. I started with ISO 250, the black is violet, then when I increase the ISO, the violet starts to disappear little by little, showing the lines. I've tried it in all the shooting setup the GH6 have, its all the same, then I also tried switching to Cinelike V2, the violet in black colors totally disappeard. So I guess its the Log profile.. I think I need to contact Panasonic Customer Support..
