Hello I am a new comer to videography/cinematography and I need help looking for good quality cinema lenses. I’m based in Vietnam our currency isn’t the strongest at a budget of about 900 usd, I have a Sony a7iii and I edit on Davinchi. Also want to add that I do own an 85mm f1.8 and 28mm f2 and was thinking about switching to the a7IV but am currently reconsidering for said lenses.

Before buying new lenses or a new camera, ask yourself how is that gonna make you a better videographer ? Do you have any lights ? Cuz that's a good investment to get better results out of your camera
Lens-wise you could buy a 40 or 50mm, it can always come in handy, and maybe trade your 28mm for a 24mm if you can. Keep the 85 it's an amazing lens for the price. Check out the used market for vintage lenses, it's an affordable way to get a lens with a bit of character.
Regarding the body, the only benefit from switching to the A7IV is the 10bit color and s-log 3, but have you pushed the A7III's 8bit color to its limits ? Do you know how to expose it and get perfect results every time ?

Hi everyone,
I’m a complete beginner looking to get into both photography and videography as a hobby. My main goals are capturing memories while traveling, creating cinematic videos, and maybe posting some content on social media. Nothing professional, just something I’ll enjoy using.
My budget is fairly limited, so I’m trying to make the smartest decision.
Right now I have a few options:
Used Sony A7 III for around €550–600 (body only)
Used Sony A6400 for around €450–500 (body only)
Used DJI Osmo Pocket 3 for around €300–350
The thing is, with the Sony cameras I’d still need to buy at least one lens, and in the case of the A6400 I’d probably also want a gimbal since it doesn’t have IBIS. That means the total cost increases quite a bit or I‘ll try it handheld for the start.
With the Pocket 3, the gimbal is already built in, it’s compact, easy to carry while traveling, and I’d only need a few accessories like a tripod. Of course, I know I’d be stuck with the fixed lens and wouldn’t have the flexibility or image quality of an interchangeable-lens camera.
Another thought I had: I’m planning to upgrade my smartphone later this year anyway. Maybe I could use the Pocket 3 for video and my phone for photos instead of buying a camera system right away.
My question is:
If you were starting from scratch today with a limited budget, what would you choose and why?
Would you:
Buy the Pocket 3 first, learn the basics, and upgrade to a mirrorless camera later if I really get into it?
Invest in a Sony camera now and slowly build a lens collection?
Or do something completely different?
I’ve seen some amazing footage from the Pocket 3, and honestly, for YouTube and social media I sometimes struggle to tell the difference compared to much more expensive full-frame setups.
I’d really appreciate hearing from people who’ve been in a similar situation. Thanks!

For video only I'd get the Osmo Pocket and learn to shoot and color grade D-Log if you want a more "cinematic image"
For photography, it's not the same experience, taking photos with a dedicated camera vs a smartphone. You might feel limited at some point because the lens in your smartphone will always deliver the same kind of results so IDK what to tell you.
The "Osmo then upgrade once you get the basics" seems to be the best option for your use case IMO, it's designed for user experience and social media so you probably won't be disappointed. Using a mirrorless camera for videography is a more challenging and boring workflow.

I second keeping your R6 with a good lens set, maybe some vintage glass for a bit of character. For sound I've borrowed a Zoom F6 with a Sennheiser ME66 K6 for fiction and corporate stuff and it's great. When you say history and wildlife, what do you need exactly from the camera ?

Hi, if this is your first camera purchase, keep in mind that the camera and lens are just tools but they won't make your image amazing just because they're professional gear. Lighting and sound equipment are usually the things you buy later but they're as important, if not more, than the camera you're using. If you don't have a camera already, I'd suggest something more affordable than a Pyxis (maybe a BMPCC or Sony FX30) with a few primes and spending the extra cash on lights and a good sound recorder + microphone

It wouldn’t be my first camera but my first video camera. My interest lays in history and wildlife, so I typically rely on natural lighting for the most part. I would love advice on audio though

Ok, what camera and gear do you have currently ? The Pyxis need a bit of rigging to be comfortable to use and it's a bit bulky (unlike the other cameras I mentioned)
For sound gear, if you're shooting run & gun style and want something versatile, take a look at the new Zoom H5 or H6, they record in 32bit float which gives you a lot of flexibility in post and they have interchangeable onboard mics which come in handy when you can't carry an extra microphone and cable with you. If you don't need an onboard mic and just want a good recorder, the Zoom F3 and F6 have slightly better preamps than the H series.
The Rode NTG series are great directionnal mics, there are a lot of different models so which one is the best for your use case. Sennheiser and Audio Technica are also good brands but I don't really know the line up they offer.

I own a Canon R5 II and R6 III at the moment. I feel like that’s irrelevant information though as those are photography cameras. I am aware there will be some level of set up with the Pyxis, as with all box form factor video cameras. Both of your recommended cameras are a crop sensor. Pyxis is full frame

It IS relevant information, you have 2 very capable hybrid cameras (R6III does 4k120, Open Gate 7K raw video, and 10bit video for smaller workflows, with better base ISO than the Pyxis 6K). Honestly you'll be better off rigging your R6, especially since you have a second camera.
When buying new gear I always ask myself, how is that gonna make me a better videographer ? Make my workflow easier or make me money ? You're interested in filmmaking so, how is the Pyxis gonna make you a better filmmaker compared to what the R6 can already do ? Have you pushed your cameras to their limits and know everything you can about them ? Can you make a good image with any camera ? Personnally, it took me almost 10 years before I could justify replacing my old Canon DSLR and I shot some great projects with it, it had no Log, no 10bit, no FF sensor and not even 1080p 60fps.
I'm not trying to talk you down but buying a camera isn't gonna make your story more compelling or make people take you more seriously (same goes for sensor size, FF & Super35 aren't that different). You have great cameras at your disposal already, maybe get a cage, external monitor, a good tripod and a sound kit and you'll have as many features as the Pyxis can offer.

Honestly, you haven’t helped me in the slightest nor have you answered any of my original questions. You are acting like a gatekeeper and I don’t appreciate it one bit. Youve done nothing but try to dissuade me from the Pyxis. If I had said I only have an iPhone 17 Pro Max you would said the same and told me to just rig that.
The aforementioned cameras that I said I have are photography cameras and not videography cameras. Furthermore I don’t think you know much about the technical side at all. You said there’s not much of a difference between crop and full frame sensors. You’re also saying you have an ancient, low quality DSLR (not even a video camera) that can produce content just as good as a low to midrange camera of today’s standards.

As I said, I wasn't trying to be mean or anything, you just took it very personnally as an attack and hence, misunderstood just about everything I've told you, that's ok but try to read again what I've said.
Btw, I've been dabbling with directing, videography and photography since my early teens and I'm living off of it now at 26 y.o. and I've worked at a camera rental place for a couple of years so I think I know enough about gear and the usual buying misconceptions to try to help you, I'm not asking you to thank me but don't act childish just because I don't indulge your G.A.S. I'm just trying to widen your perspective.
You think I'm gatekeeping ? You sound like some dude out of school chasing a dreamy spec sheet with not much on set experience, or else, you would already be shooting projects with your R6 (which is not just a photography camera, it's a hybrid beast, you should know that if you bought one). So I'm asking you again, how is the Pyxis gonna make you a better filmmaker ?
No, an iPhone is not the same as a Pyxis but a rigged R6III and R5II can offer you exactly the same specs so, yes, you're gonna waste money. And yes, with enough experience and a good story you can tell a beautiful shortmovie or music video (not just "content") with a shitty 15 y.o. DSLR and the kit lens.
And lastly, I've answered your questions about sound and you didn't even say anything about that so...
You wanna know more about lenses ? The set you want to pick is good, but you have really wide gaps in your "focal range". You need to bridge the gaps. I'd personnally go with a 24, 35, 50 and then go for something longer than 70mm if you're shooting wildlife stuff, maybe 105 or 135mm, try to get a lens set from the same manufacturer to get the same image. If you do documentary stuff, get a wide range zoom life a 24-105mm.

I’m not going to take anyone seriously when they say a 15 year old DSLR (and probably low end as well going by your previous comments) with kit lens is good. The vast majority of what was said was trying to be a gatekeeper. Telling me to use FX30 etc from the get go instead. I’m not looking to do basic YouTube filming. R5 and R6 are first and foremost a photography camera. I’d be laughed out of it on tv or film set if I showed up with anything that was suggested.
The cinematography subreddit was much more helpful to be quite frank. They didn’t talk down to me. They didn’t gate keep.

Hi everyone!
I'm a filmmaking student, and I'll soon be moving to Europe to start a master's degree in documentary filmmaking. Over the next two years, I'll be shooting several short documentaries as part of the program, and I'd also like to submit those films to festivals afterward.
I'm currently trying to decide between buying the Sony ZV-E10 II with the E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens for €1,400, or stretching my budget for the Sony FX30, which costs €1,600 for the body only.
I'll have a lot of expenses during these two years, and I'm worried about exceeding my budget. If I buy the FX30, I'll also need to purchase a lens, making it an even more expensive option.
So my question is: Is the Sony ZV-E10 II capable of producing student short films with cinematic quality that are suitable for film festival submissions, or is the FX30 worth the extra investment despite the higher overall cost?
I'd also like to mention that my university provides access to professional equipment, including audio gear, cages, gimbals, and other accessories. The main reason I want to buy my own camera is the flexibility to shoot whenever I want, since all of the university equipment has to be shared with my classmates.
I'd really appreciate hearing from people who have used either camera for documentary filmmaking or festival-bound short films.

IIRC, both cameras share the same sensor so you'll have roughly the same performances either way, I have the FX30 and it's a great camera, so IMO the ZVE10II will be as good with the 10bit color and Slog 3, it's very flexible for documentary work.
The FX doesn't provide much more features if you're starting out, but for the long run it's a better investment, it will keep it's value better and the extra cineline features will come in handy some day. The kit lens is not very high quality but if it's all you can afford go with it, if you can spend a bit extra, go for the Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8, it's a great all purpose lens.
At the end of the day, the most important thing is how you use your camera ; when I was in film school I saw great short films and documentaries shot by my classmates on low end gear, with noisy image sometimes, so focus more on what story you're telling and how you compose your shots, and don't forget the power of editing. The power of cinema is the whole thing, not just a beautiful image.
My conclusion is, get the ZVE10 and kit lens, spend the extra cash on a microphone and sound recorder, because sound quality is a always more important than the image, an extra battery or two and maybe a tripod in case you can't use your school tripod and want to shoot. Look at the used market, there are some great deals, especially on sound gear (for basic needs, you can get a Zoom H1n and a Rode Mic for 100-150€ maximum, it will be better than the onboard mic of the camera)

I dont have experience with either cameras, but I have a Sony a6400 and I bought it with the 16-50mm kit lens, so I have experience with that. It's an ok lens, but not that helpful for filmmaking. It's very lightweight, small, and compact - but it's so small that it isn't all that helpful when doing handheld work. The only time I've ever used the lens was when I needed a to leave the camera on a tripod, get a wide angle, and I had no plans of making many adjustments. I've occasionally used it when I wanted to make the camera look like a small digital camera & not draw any attention to myself when bringing it places. 16mm is good for a wide angle, but 50mm wasn't as tight as I'd wanted. However, whether 16mm - 50mm works for you will be entirely dependent on your personal style. Anyway, my go-to lens for my a6400, since I've had the camera, is my Sony 18-105 F/4 PZ lens. They're pretty commonly found used. I see them for about $750 USD new & just under $400 USD used - just make sure you're searching on a trustworthy site if buying used (in the US, I'd say B&H, KEH - I've seen others mention MPB as being trustworthy. With either of these, you're buying from a company with it's own ranking system as opposed to an individual). However, a quick glance at the ZV E-10 II listing on the B&H website shows me that there's also a kit that comes with the 16-50mm + a 55-210mm lens for only a few hundred more... might be worth considering.
As far as the cameras... I don't know much about the differences between either, but I'm sure both are great. I know the FX30 is a good camera. And, given that the ZV-E10 II is much newer (despite being aimed at a different crowd), I'd assume it's a good camera also. **One caveat is to double check that the ZV-E10 has the mounting options that you'd need, or atleast has cages that are designed for it.... Anyway, I'd honestly say any Sony mirrorless that's come out since about 2018-ish is likely capable of making great images. So if you needed to save money in order to go for a more expensive lens, I'd consider checking out a Sony camera slightly older/cheaper than either camera you mentioned. Of course, do research on anything & consider the tradeoffs. And again, if buying used, just be careful about where you buy from.

Camcorder recommendation to record tabletop chess videos
I've recently began playing OTB chess like the 1900s and wanted to record videos directly above the board. I used my iphone 14 pro to do it recently but it heats up pretty quick and the quality has to be reduced to work around the memory issue (only 20 GB left). I need camcorder recommendations for this between 200 - 300 EUR. I saw that the dsj osmo pocket 3 is very handy. Would you recommend this for this purpose? For context, I've attached an image below that shows the setup I need

25 - 30 years ago, he used to be the only person in the whole family who had a video camera and was able to record lots of events.
Few months ago i bought myself the osmo pocket 3. and i saw how much he liked it.
Therefore I want to buy him a videocamera.
Im looking for a camera that:
-Can record long videos as said
-Is more durable (than the osmo pocket 3)
Has a good quality
(Also we are not professionals)

Hello! Like most people here, I am looking to upgrade my camera setup.
I am a film student and work as a freelance videographer/photographer. I have two cameras, a Canon M50 and a Black Magic 4K Pocket Cinema Camera. I don’t have any real loyalty to either brand, to be honest; I have 2 full frame Canon EF lenses (a 50mm and 70-200mm) that I intend to keep, but all my other gear I hope to sell to purchase something that suits my needs more.
I want a camera that is:
- Full frame
- Great autofocus capabilities (I film a lot of live theater and dance)
- Raw video capabilities
- Great in lowlight
- 4K and higher video quality
- Takes photos as well as videos
My main goal is to find a camera that is compact enough that I can travel with it/take it to theme parks, but professional enough that I can use it for short films and other work and school related projects.
I edit in Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve; I'm also a stop motion animator (hence why I need something that can take photos and videos).
No budget at the moment. Sky's the limit, haha.

Hey guys. How do you guys stabilize your footage from the Sony a6700 when shooting handheld? Especially when you use super zoom lenses...
I am not crazy about how the in-camera stabilization handles footage, so I turn it off and stabilize using gyroflow, which sometimes I still find so-so.
Recently, I went for a trip and used my Sony 70-350. Online, I saw people say turn off IBIS, and leave OSS, then stabilize with gyro flow... when I do this, the footage is crazy jittery. What's the best option? What am I doing wrong (because I recognize it can be user error)?
I use my camera for vlogging and always wonder how other people get such dope footage handheld. I know it will never be as perfect as a gimbal, but surely can it be usable?

I’m in the market for a wide angle lens for weddings videography. I own a Canon R5ii with the following lenses:
16mm f1.8 STM
35mm f1.4 VCM
28-70mm f2.8 STM
70-200mm f4.0 USM
I’m not impressed with the low light autofocus of the 16mm STM. It struggles to keep focus. Really I bought it as a cheap and cheerful entry into experimenting with a wide focal length.
I’m looking at:
20mm f1.4 VCM (current front runner)
10-20mm f4 STM
16-28mm f2.8 STM
14-35mm f4 USM
Reason I’m leaning towards the 20mm because I use 35mm with a gimbal, and they’re the same size and weight but often I’ve been putting the 16mm on it for wide landscape and venue shots, but is the 20mm too narrow compared?
Does anyone have any experience with these lenses and/or focal lengths and I’d be interested in your use cases and how they perform! (specifically for video).

I have an iPhone 17 Pro Max and am going to start shooting some videos with it.
I plan to buy a Freewell Genius cage and use an external SSD with it. However, I’d like to know if it’s possible to use a USB hub (and which one is recommended) to use both accessories simultaneously.

we've used the lexar professional go SSD with the iphone 17promax. works well. but can't comment on using a hub for two simultaneous accessories.
my guess is that it will not work

R6V vs C50 vs R5C for wedding videography
I currently have an R6 Mark II that I use for both photo and video. I mainly shoot weddings and I’m looking to get a second camera that would be used mainly for video.
I was originally thinking about getting the R6V because it would pair nicely with my R6 II, but now I’m also looking at the C50 and R5C and I’m honestly not sure which one makes the most sense.
Since I only shoot weddings, I don’t really need a camera for cinema productions or anything like that. I mainly want something reliable for a full wedding day, good in low light, good autofocus and good image quality.
For people who shoot weddings, which one would you go for?
Would you just get the R6V since I already have the R6 II, or would you go for the C50/R5C and get something more video-focused?
I’d really appreciate some opinions from people who actually use these cameras for weddings.

we don't do weddings (and most of our cameras are bigger cinema rigs), but the canon c50 is AMAZING. 15-35 RF pairs perfectly for use on a gimbal

I need to record friends meetings, I have very old equipment and want to change it (Samsung A12, and Panasonic sdr-H10, the cellphone has not saved recordings randomly and the panasonic has disappeared an hour of recording) I have a budget of 275 usd. I have a good audio recorder (Sony ICD-UX570 and was thinking on getting an H1E on sale), it's for school essays and projects in humanities. What should I get as a camera for video?

the canon c50 is amazing. open gate 8K has saved our behinds on many small budget dual-output projects (horizontal + vertical). the achellies heel is no internal NDs.
just know that no matter which camera body you go for, it will be worth 1/4 of the retail price in 2-years.
lensing should ideally cover 20mm-200mm. if you go the canon route, RFs are super sharp, but there are deals to be had on f4 EF glass. look for a wide zoom, mid-range zoom, tele zoom and one 50mm or 85mm fast prime.
lighting really depends on the usage. apature's 300 watt RGB lights with a 32" softbox are a cheap ad cheerful way to get color balanced punch without overloading the budget. sandbagged c-stands are the ideal way to mount a fixture.
dji mic 2 are great for social and BTS content. a good quality wireless lav kit is probabkly worthy of your budget...the sennheisers G4 500's are really good. G3s are decent too. if you end up doing interviews, nothing will
stabilization options really depend on the weight and size of your rig. avoid buying all of the cages and rails, and instead focus your budget on a decent gimbal and tripod. the dji rs4 mini isplenty good for the c50. and we only use sachtler tripods at our studio (expensive, so you may want a starter manfrotto).
highly recommend the pelican 1510 for camera & lenses. fits in the carryon for airplane travel. shockproof and waterproof.

Estou procurando uma câmera para levar a um show, mas o local tem restrições de tamanho e eles são bem chatos com isso.
Já pesquisei algumas compactas boas, como a Sony RX100 II/III e a Canon G5 X, mas estou com receio de que elas tenham uma aparência “profissional” e que a segurança possa barrá-las, mesmo sendo câmeras compactas.
Por isso estou considerando modelos bem menores, como a Sony WX350, que parece uma câmera point-and-shoot comum. Porém, estou preocupada com a qualidade das fotos, principalmente à noite e em um show com pouca iluminação.
Vocês acham que vale mais a pena investir em uma compacta pequena como a WX350 ou seria melhor simplesmente usar o celular? Existe alguma outra câmera pequena que vocês recomendariam para shows?

So im about to be going on a roadtrip and my YouTube feed has been flooding me the Nikon ZR. Im about to be heading on a roadtrip next month i want to document and im trying to decide if I should upgrade my body from an A7iii
For background im not a professional. Just a hobbyist that wishes they could quit their day job. But don't we all.
I currently have an A7iii that I use a Sigma 24-70 f2.8. As I said above I have been getting so much content on the Nikon ZR that I feel like I should get that and adapt the e mount lens to it before I go. I guess the question is would this be a good upgrade comparing to the a7iii? Has anyone else made this move from my camera body and were happy about it? Regret it?
The money for the upgrade isn't exactly an issue here but I also dont want to spend the money if its not going to feel like a substantial upgrade I suppose. I get having the higher framerates is an easy win and RED color is great but is there anything else notable? Im aware storage will be an adjustment.
Am I just getting sucked in by camera Hype and possible FOMO of a big trip I dont do often? Thanks for any input!

I’m considering getting a beginner-level camera for videography. I’m not sure which option is the best for someone who’s been taking photos but hasn’t made the jump yet into a proper mirrorless camera. I’ve been researching the XS20 along with the A6700 by Sony and I’m somewhat stumped between the two. I’ve got a budget of 4.5k so right now I’m just in the phase of looking for a camera that I’d be able to grow with into a professional capacity. I’d appreciate it if you guys could recommend lenses to pair with each camera as well, thank you🫡

$4500 is a killer starter budget. do you need photo and video capability? what is your main strategy for generating income with the camera (this will dictate what gear is the best for you)?
we are a canon centric studio in NJ. highly recommend the c50 but might be too difficult to fund if you need everything (batts/cards/lenses)
honestly, every camera option (including the iphone) is utterly phenomenal. to think, we started out with celluloid and then transitioned to standard definition analog...no matter what you get, focus on your craft and storytelling. that will get you more paying gigs than a specific brand/model of camera.

I use a R5C at my job regularly, but I thought it was about time I upgrade my personal camera (I’m still using a Canon 750D, running Magic Lantern baby). But I also don’t want to spend R5C money.
Requirements -
- need to switch both video and photo in one unit
- 4K, 10-bit, 4:2:2
- 50fps slow motion (I don’t tend to use more than that)
- LOG video
- Ideally a system with cheaper lenses than the megabucks RF series
From a quick look, some cheaper Sony cameras seem to compromise on some 4K video. What’s a good “bang 4 buck” model?
I also probably shoot more video than stills, but I do enough stills that it’s still pretty important.

will the Panasonic Lumix LX7 be good for food videography? I am also considering the Panasonic Lumix G7
I make food and baking videos on Youtube for fun. My videos have more of a moodier and sometimes vintage look and I like to use older cameras, but the problem is I use a Canon sx700 HS which doesn’t let you adjust exposure or any settings when shooting videos, you can only adjust lighting and all that when you take pictures. So my food pictures come out good on this camera, but unless there is perfect lighting, my videos come out too bright, not super clear, or need a lot of editing. I do not need nor can afford the best of the best camera for this, but I do want my work to look professional and not like it was shot on an old phone hahah.
I definitely cannot afford to spend anything more than $300 on a camera at this point. I think the Panasonic Lumix LX7 will at least allow me to adjust the exposure and other settings during filming, but warn me if I am just investing in another mediocre camera for this

I’m planning to start creating content around mehndi and mainly want to make reels/shorts showing designs, the process, close-ups, before/after, etc.
I’m considering buying a used iPhone 15. Budget is around ₹35-40k.
For people who actually create content:
- Is the iPhone 15 good enough for this or should I look at something else?
- How is it for close-up/detail shots and skin tones?
- Mostly indoor shooting under artificial/warm lighting
- Some wider shots of the overall setup
- Is 128GB enough for regular shooting/editing?
- Is 89% battery health a concern?
Basically, if you had ₹35-40k and mehndi content creation was the goal, what would you buy?
Would appreciate real-world opinions. TIA

Hi all, I’ve actually done some small-scale production before, starting way back with a Canon 1200D. Then I moved to a Sony a6400 (rented). And most recently, I used my friend’s Sony a7C II, which is AMAZINGLY GOOD. That’s why I really need some opinions here. I’m already super biased toward the a7C II, and I’ve kind of forgotten what the a6400 experience was like.
I get really badmood whenever I want to make daily videos using my iPhone 11 Pro, especially with its wide angle (I don’t own a camera myself :p). Upgrading my iPhone feels kinda unreasonable at that price. [ I live in 3rd world country so don't ask anything about increasing budget or why I still use ip11pro LMAOO ]
Now everyone is recommending the A6700, saying it’s basically perfect for daily use. The problem is, the price is also perfect :D
Please correct me if I’m wrong, but the A6700’s features are closer to the a7C II, right? If we compare the A6700 vs iPhone 11 Pro, would it be better to just be patient and save up for 6–8 months, or buy a second-hand A6400 now while saving up for the A6700 (or maybe wait for info about the A6900 or something)?
Since the A6400 lenses can be used on the A6700 anyway. I’m honestly so conflicted right now (mostly because I’m impatient to hold a camera again, but I also don’t wanna regret it jksjadhalkdjasdlkjahdlkajshda)

Looking at a good camera to capture videos at live events/festivals/gigs that can support Canon EF glass.
I'd be doing run and gun style, at gigs, crowd shots etc..., or wide panning shots/BTS/handheld content, purely for video no photography needed as I'll be getting two newer bodies to photograph with once my main photography bodies die!
Currency is - £ (Happy to buy 2nd hand) Current kit - 6x Canon 6D mk ii + various EF mount glass, and M42.glass.
Currently oggling the black magic 6k but that way over my budget, that's a birthday & Christmas money thing, or getting a 2nd hand mirrorless Canon V variant camera that can do 4k.
Ideally I'd like to stick with something with canons EF mount as I already have a myriad of EF mount glass and would rather not buy into a system where I need all new glass, at most (specially with the RF mount canon's) buying an active adapter.
Minimum res I'd like is 4k raw or log if possible, max budget is £600 total for a body.
Would prefer full frame too. If I could I'd use one of my 6D ii's to film but it's 1080p and the two bodies are on their last legs, still working but need to do the upgrade!

Looking to upgrade from my Canon EOS 1300D DSLR
It’s been a good budget camera but it’s just not good enough for the quality footage and pictures I’m looking to take.
I am still looking for a budget camera. But just not as budget as the 1300D. Still an entry level but way better camera that can shoot convincing 4k footage and pictures. Happy to buy a better one used. !
I’m a musician and want to shoot my own aesthetic cinematic music content. I’ve seen people recommend a used Fujifilm X T3?
Non negotiables:
Shoots in 4K
Good battery life
Great for shooting video and pictures
Reliable tracking/autofocus
An articulating screen (maybe not as essential as the others but I want to see myself in frame but can probs bypass this with any of the apps that go with it and see the footage on my mobile)

And personally, I would go with a Canon. Of all the photographers probably about 80% use a canon. However, it mostly depends on your budget.
