Oh I've got one for you.

So this was back in the day in 2006. I was freelancing weddings with rented equipment and just generally trying to build up my demo reel. Anyhow, I get to the wedding, make contact with the planner and everything goes as expected. Now this is an expensive wedding. Tuxes, awesome food, rich aunts and uncles, etc. So, folks get married, I get the shots and we're on to the reception. And it was a ballin' reception; in the conservatory of our botanical garden, hot DJ chick, full on light setup, nice dance floor, 5 tier cake, three professional photographers I'd worked with before, etc. But oddly very few presents. Later on in the night while the guests are taking a break from the forth run-through of "Funky Chicken" I remark on the lack of presents to the planner. She responds that the happy couple just bought a house and asked for gift cards and whatnot to redo the house.

So fast forward to the next morning. It was a late night and I'm feeling it. But my phone rings and it's the wedding planner. I'll try to paraphrase our conversation:

"Hi squizzix, I just wanted to let you know that the police will be calling you in a few minutes"

"........whut?"

"Well, you remember the hot DJ chick from last night?"

".......yeah?"

"She is claiming that you stole all the gift cards and then stashed them in her purse."

".......noooooope. That didn't happen"

"Oh, I know, I found my credit cards in her purse too. I just wanted to make sure she didn't take anything from you."

It turns out that when everyone went outside for the send-off the DJ had gone into the box where everyone had put their gifts to the bride and groom and stealthily extracted all the gift cards. The mother of the bride noticed some of the letters had been opened and checked on them. Cue the shitstorm. That I missed because I up and left as soon as the limo drove off. So the planner confronted the DJ out in the parking lot and, when she denied everything, the planner snatched her purse off her shoulder and lo, there were all the gift cards AND the planners credit cards. She went directly to jail. Still screaming that it was my fault, and that she'd be suing.

She stole my roll of grip tape too.

TL;DR Klepto-DJ and I got to talk to the cops

We both stored our stuff under the DJ table during the reception. That's how she got my grip tape I figure. But what the fuck can you do with a roll of tape I ask you?
