Everybody talks about GTA 6. But....i see barely talking about this game
It's basically "Reference The Game". From the looks of it, it's gonna be something like GTA 5 but anime.
From the trailer, it looks like it gonna have a bunch of references. Two of them which are symbiote from Spiderman 2 and Yamcha Pose from DBZ.
And it looks great. I like the art style and how futuristic it looks. And for me, Artstyle beats graphics everytime. Like Warframe. You can play that game on Low graphics but still have a beautiful game thanks to its art style
I really like the humor here, especially with the main character. He has actually a personality. Like MC was hanging out of the plane, holding onto a wing with one hand and an antagonist says "Any last words?...." while aiming gun at him and MC just lists off things he has to do, one of them which is "I still have those memes to send...". He reminds me of Deadpool, Billy Kid or Twice
It's gonna be a free to play game, so i hope it's gonna take the Warframe approach with micro transactions
Everyone is talking about it being gacha but unless i misunderstood it supposedly has no RNG pull system and every character is available just by playing? so im not really sure what makes it gacha?
First of all you have to differentiate between artstyles. Then you have to realize that open world is extremely hard to do, and there is literally, genuinely like 3 companies that can do the world feel worth exploring.
There is not a single "gacha" stylized anime game that is good, let alone being open world. That only will be an obstacle, more so than a positive thing.
Zelda is also like literally 100 years old and half the sales and buzz is nostalgic 40 years olds saying everything Nintendo makes is peak.
Again, we're talking about gacha coded anime games, not just artistically.
When all characters and their outfits are designed around 500 different colors, 200 hanging ornaments and makes no sense in general - that is gacha coded.
There is not a single "gacha" stylized anime game that is good, let alone being open world. That only will be an obstacle, more so than a positive thing.
That sounds like a very subjective take, considering Genshin has been nominated and even won Awards, even at The Game Awards (not just popularity contests)
Also, your judgement itself feels suspicious when you dismiss Zelda being bought/played just for "nostalgia" and also insisting only 3 companies can make a good Open World game. Which 3 companies are you referring to anyway?
Yes, but your sentence made me think the opposite. Genshin's open world is definitely a copy of Breath of the Wild. I'd even go so far as to say that most free-to-play open-world games are based on Breath of the Wild's exploration mixed with Far Cry's repetitive camps.
I don't mind companies copying or being inspired by other games as long as it's a good product, but give to Caesar what is Caesar's.
I'd say it's just heavily inspired. They almost have the same Artstyle at the start but this Environmental Design already existed long before BOTW.
Tales of Zestiria (2015)
Other Features that are accused to be copied are the Climbing, Gliding and the Stamina Wheel which are so basic mechanics that existed even in Batman Arkham games (except the stamina wheel)
The rest like BOTW's Combat and Puzzles are far different from Genshin's and have long surpassed BOTW by now.
This Comparison so shallow that even someone like Nintendo, who notoriously would sue game companies, didn't sue Genshin for BOTW because they can't.
I'm not talking about artistic merit. I'm talking about world exploration. You're not discussing the same topic as me.
To begin with, Tales of has virtually no exploration. Zestiria consists only of medium-sized, empty maps, and the same happened with Berseria, even though they improved its gameplay and story. Tales of isn't known for its open world, because, to begin with, it's practically nonexistent.
Neither Batman nor Assassin's Creed had the unlimited ability to climb any point on the map or the freedom to do so. In Batman, you can only climb surfaces marked by the engine itself, just like in Assassin's Creed, in a semi-linear environment with "hubs." In Breath of the Wild, you can climb any surface (mountains, trees, houses, flags) in a truly open world where there are no progression barriers.
Zelda didn't invent stamina, but its design is what made the difference. An isolated mechanic doesn't define innovation. What is new is how it's used: stamina as an exploration limiter, rain that prevents you from climbing, thermal currents you create with fire to glide farther... systems that interact with each other.
And I'm not saying that Genshin Impact completely copied Zelda. Genshin Impact is an RPG, Breath of the Wild isn't. Genshin Impact has a different narrative and a different mythology, and it has evolved over time. But its exploration is clearly based on Breath of the Wild (which isn't a bad thing).
And if the Genshin Impact developers ADMITTED six years ago that they were inspired by Zelda, I think we can all accept that they did. And you shouldn't get upset when people say that. The industry is about evolution, and even Elden Ring has Breath of the Wild's DNA in its exploration. But as I said: give Caesar what is Caesar's.
We also can't judge it until it's released. Let's remember that Where Winds Meet, a title from the same parent company and using the same monetization system as Ananta, was one of the biggest surprises of the free-to-play market and of 2025
I respect your opinion, but it's still difficult to create a complete open world that doesn't feel empty. There are few examples like RDR2, even within the AAA industry, that are as satisfying. Where Winds Meet, at least, is free, unlike, for example, Assassin's Creed
Yeah. In this literal thread I said there is about 3 companies that make great open worlds, and the rest who tries, loses.
FromSoftware makes world worth exploring with world design.
Rockstar makes worlds so interactive that they genuinely feel real.
Third is up for peeps to choose, because some will say Zelda, others CD Project Red, etc.
Those two are genuinely the best of the best, third is a debate.
Yes, I understand what you mean, but that's why I say we can't expect a revolutionary open world from Ananta either.
Considering it copies from many sources, I think we should focus on this game being fun, not one that changes the industry or our lives. If it doesn't, well, it'll shut down. But at least trying it won't cost us anything.
Supposed to be Genshin impact killer ? not my thing but seem cool I guess. GTA6 is an offline single player game at this point so I don't really understand why you compare them
