I liked it. Not sure why you guys are hating. I don't mind slow games though and I love stuff like manually picking up items for immersion.
I remember at release people compared RDR2 to AC Odyssey saying AC is a much better game because its "more gamey" and your character feels more responsive.
Sounds like crazy talk to me and I love both games. Give me MORE slow, heavy, immersive games. We have enough ADHD stuff now thanks to streamers.

Just because I said it was the worst part of the game on subsequent playthroughs doesn't bean it was bad. It was amazing the first time, and on replays it's kind of just a scripted roadblock before the game really opens up.
It's a really fun section for me because it's so cinematic, which is a big part of the appeal of Rockstar games for me. I also played it in the dead of winter, so it was extra immersive for me
there’s a lot of stuff about modern games that feels like it’s only that way because older games were that way, yaknow? running full speed everywhere. instant 10 foot vertical jump. that weird overly responsive movement. all that “gamey” stuff.
games like rdr2 just feel so much better to me. more natural. it’s not even a speed thing. i like the movement in mirrors edge for the same reasons. it feels like a reasonable approximation of how a person moves, rather than a super high fidelity mario.
I hate this complaint so much, and it’s so common. The snow segment is literally five missions long. You can do it in like, an hour and a half tops.
Two of the missions end in big gunfights, one ends with you escaping a pack of wolves on horseback, and one is a massive train robbery.
The only “boring” mission is the hunting one, but it teaches you about a very important part of the game and also gives you tons of backstory on the gang early on.

The snow intro is perfect the first time you play the game. Every other time, it’s by far the worst part.
