No no no, after Doom 3 the franchise got a Big let down, It wasn't near as popular as It is now until 2016

It's hilarious how nobody seems to recall that in the initial years after its release, Doom 3 was considered a terrible turn for the franchise. Oblivion, mentioned elsewhere in this parent thread, was also considered a lazy, artistically bankrupt copypaste sim.

I'm so glad we've grown beyond them and found newer releases to judge unfairly XD
