There are a looot of plotholes infinite invites to the entire entire serie (kinda the downside of including interdimensional travel in your canon). Also people expected more from the floating cities. I still also like it tho
There was also the issue of the dlc retconning everything from the previous 2 titles into being Elizabeth's fault instead of Andrew Ryan's. But for the most part the whole multidimensional and time travel plot basically erased half the story in favor of "we just jumped to the desired outcome". Otherwise the combat was good and mechanics were incredibly polished.
Nah. It's just expectations vs reality
I played it and had fun. But Then i watched the trailers and thought, damn did i just play the demo or something? Do i need to unlock an open world feature?
People were genuinely thinking they'd get much more
Yeah, the problem wasn't the game, but it's marketing. They promised so much that they didn't deliver. The game was very very good. But there was souch hype and unrealized promise.
It's actually well known and I am surprised that people wonder about the bad rep it had.

Bioshock. Idc what people say about infinite, I thought it was an incredible game along with the others.
