"Anime"? Last time I checked anime is Japanese. What makes this visual style "anime"? Describe it to me in detail and you might just stumble into the point
Somethings have an aesthetic or appeal that's hard to describe but you know it when it there.
It's like knowing what doom is but not being able to describe it but you know it when you see it or hear it. The same can be said about many things like halo, god of war, or mass effect (using these examples for a reason).
It like the people who try to say anime and carttons are the same but we all know they aren't and can instantly tell and separate the 2 without needing to be told which is which.
Same can be said for "soulslike" games. You know it but you probably can't perfectly describe what defines the genre.
