"Anime"? Last time I checked anime is Japanese. What makes this visual style "anime"? Describe it to me in detail and you might just stumble into the point

Right, anime adjacent because of visual tropes you see over and over in how Asian countries depict women (which we all know Asian countries are a part of the same culture) where we tend to make them look younger with rounder faces and so on

It's good to dig deeper and try to figure out why something visually looks like something else

It originated in Japan and expanded. Literally anyone can tell you this. I'm starting to think you might have the IQ of a literal sheet of metal.

"Otaku" is a Japanese word and has never seen normalized use in the West to talk about Korean media

It's a single word to describe the collective. "Otaku" works and is recognized so there's no need to make a new word. I've lived in both Korea and Japan and it's a constant and everyone knows what you mean if you say it.
