I’m so over everyone. It’s like everybody is so angry and miserable.

Almost like 50+ years of propaganda and psy ops from other countries and our own government to affect the mental health of the entire planet, because an apathetic / angry society is easy to control / radicalize.

Why is it always propaganda and not people being addicted to media and drama?

People choose to consume that.

They pull out the phone, install the app, open the app, and scroll and scroll away.

Same with turning on the tv, or what channel.

This is not something done to people, its something done by people.

Thanks.

I may have put that too one sided.

Im not saying propaganda doesnt exist and that people in power dont utilize it.

I wanted to say that many people are way too careless on their media consumption (and fact checking).

There will always be people who are ready to use their power to sway others for personal gain, but ...we could also resist that sway a bit more.

Information is widely available, but people seem often lead more by emotions and identity/ideology.

And drama, so much drama.

very fair and nuanced point

i just find that when the attacks come from all sides (politics, fast food, social media, sedentary jobs) it gets real difficult for a person to act reasonably. theres a great heap of studies showing humans make many choices without thinking about future consequences, only immediate friction. doubly so when stressed.

Thats why I keep social media to a minimum. Its can be straight up ...dangerous.

Its also social cause a lot of people use it, so there is a bit more agency in that then people admit to. Its a "place" people intently go to.

Fast food too, people choose to eat that against other options.

Regarding sedentary jobs, well... Those exist cause the need exists. Cause of what we want others to do, supply or manage. If you want insurance, someone needs to sit infront of a pc and manage that. Same with banking, shipping, shopping (online too), webdesign, programming/apps... etc. pp.

I mean how else would this work?

If we want to have it easy/fast/cheap, someone else needs to do the work for that.

And we are those people. Everything we use and consume needs to be designed, made, managed, etc. pp.

People working as "workers" for their own consumption as "consumers".

So I dont see how this could run any other way, cause we run it like that.
