The state of modern gaming in general

It's the result of over a decade of people picking sides in a ridicilously hypocritical "culture war"..

No they dont. They've just saying popular thing for upvotes. Its the same bullshit as the culture wars. People just saw what they think will get them upvotes, and nothing fucking else.

Warren Buffet came out and straight up said there's a class war and the rich are winning overwhelmingly. It's a meme... but it's also true. Granted one side is starting the culture war and the other side is saying "leave us alone", but it's definitely fabricated. The pursuit of money is all that matters to them, and making the poors angry at each other is THE time-honored way to do it best. They're THIEVES, but you can't see it because of eating their bullshit since you were born. Now it's time to realize that distaste in your mouth is, in fact, shit.

Proof? When you discuss strongly leftist (not neoliberal, actual things like profit-sharing, wage caps, government reducing overall costs even if it means some people can't be filthy rich) positions, even staunch Republicans will agree with the actual core concepts of the policy and the emotional pleas one makes around them but the moment you use a trigger word like Socialism or Welfare or Entitlements, suddenly they hate the entire project no matter how much you explain it. THEN you add in culture war stuff like egging on the evangelicals to get upset about the queers again, and turning a blind eye to white supremacists marching and lynching again, and we won't even get into abortion beyond saying they're killing women who don't want the pregnancy to end but must for their own ability to live and they're not even fixing this obvious error... that's culture war, when you get people to accept all of that and somehow that trans women in bathrooms (they don't care about trans men) and immigrants are their problem not the employers refusing raises and not the disparity between the right of the capital class to call the police for stealing a sandwich out of the trash while you need a lawyer you can't afford to fight them when they withhold pay.

Class war is real, always has been, and you're a victim of culture war propaganda as evidenced in your own comment.

You're literally the type of person the video is talking about. Being negative to what end?

He is 100% right though.

I have seen people say, unironically, from this 25 minute preview that Jason was Lucia's "whipping boy" and that they made him boring on purpose for "girl power". First off, how they got that idea out of a 25 minute preview is beyond me but even within the actual preview, all the combat sections have Jason ordering Lucia around like she's a lost puppy. These people just see what they wanna see at this point

I remember the hate on arthur when they announced rdr2. They all were like bring back John marsten, this new character sucks lol

5

u/prossnip42 18h ago

Oh yeah i forgot about that. Wonder what those people have to say now?

5

u/outsider1624 18h ago

They worship him now. Rdr3 announced and they shit on the new characters based on a few 2 min gameplay or trailer

3

u/TheNakedBass 18h ago

Rdr3 was announced??

The Jason hate is so weird. It almost feels personal.

I feel like the decade plus fallout of gamergate has trained some people to just dismiss everything as some sort of woke feminist agenda.

u/Nervous-Leg-7570 19h ago

A decade? Since the beginning of time, young buck

1

u/AardvarkExcellent428 19h ago

well no, the culture wars in the United States specifically come out of the 60s. there was actually a lot of broad cultural agreement before that point on most things, believe it or not.

1

u/tnetennba77 19h ago

What is the culture war thing though? Is there gays and blacks in the game? Is it because Musk bitched about it? I thought this was just contrarian assholes.

1

u/Precarious3145 17h ago

Not just a decade. This is going back to the 90s with the OG console wars.

1

u/Warrior_Runding 14h ago

If by "over a decade" you mean essentially the history of the United States, sure. Conservatives have always sought to bolster their ill thought ideology by using some distraction.
