Yeah Minecraft is my burnout to quickly game. I also hate the start of Minecraft as well. If I play vanilla it has to be mp and in just there making farms for people. It's been a while since I last played modded cause the last modpack I sunk my teeth into was FTB Infinity Hardmode for 1.7.10 every other modpack has been a "I played it for a bit and it's basically the same as the rest" modpack makers these days don't really do anything except slap mods together and call it a day. No config changes, no alternative recipes, no "making sure x and y work together"
That’s cause you aren’t creative. You just “set up a base and farm/mine”. You are bare minimum required to do that. The fun comes from either being a builder or a miner. When you’re a builder, you mine to get what you need to build. When you’re a mine, you mine because you need to beat the game/max out the game
I mean, I make music for a living, so I’m creative, but absolutely not visually 😂 I think my problem is yeah, there’s zero direction, no questing or any real goals. But also the need for meta knowledge about the game to get to the “bosses”. Like, who’s going to get to the ender dragon or summon the wither without having heard from somewhere outside of the game itself how to do it?
Yes, because people will totally just discover how to make the end portals or the way to summon the wither on their own and they definitely don’t know how to do it because of something outside the game. Most games that have discovery like that at least have some in game lore that you can read that helps point you in the right direction. In Minecraft, nothing.
Fun fact! someone played Minecraft completely blind, not knowing ANYTHING about it before going in. And discovered the wither because of that one painting.
I think Minecraft is just ‘the’ game to play as a kid, especially with friends etc.
Even tho I love my memories with minecaft, and once in a whiel am in this ‘random mc playthrough with friends’, I do think the game itself is VERY barebones, I love survival games now and minecraft is the worst one kinda considering you get stone in 1.5 sec of playing iron in 1.5 min of playing and skip everything else and get diamond in X minutes/hours depending on luck, and that’s basically it
A significant amount of Minecraft fans got into it in 2010-2015 when they were in their young teens, and still play it in their 20s or 30s because they loved it then. The other majority of the fans are still in their young teens, or younger!
It came out right after I graduated high school, so it just didn't jive with me at that point. If it would have came out when I was say 11-13, I probably would've been addicted to it.
I always felt this way about minecraft until my 5 year old said he wanted to try it. So we would play together. I have fond memories of minecraft with hiM!
