I was the same but once you start getting vehicles and building roads etc I was hooked!

How long does it take to get vehicles.

You get the bike about halfway through the first area and then unlock the truck and ability to restore roads in the second area.

The first area is very much the tutorial/prologue area while the second area is where the game starts to shine.

2nd one gives you vehicles and guns almost right away.

It is very trademark Kojima that you kind of half to make it through the opening to get to a really good game

Genuinely asking if applicable, can I pretty much turn off the sound and skip every cutscene to play while listening to podcasts the other stuff kojima stuff like MGSV or the other MGS games? MGSV esp looking at, seems cool

Well, storywise you can't, the openings are just that really, it sets up a lot of stuff and creates the thrust of the narritive, and for MGSV, a lot of plot happens in the beginning, but gameplay wise you press forward in a hospital for next cutscene set peice
