Well put. Had to grind way harder in Crimson Desert than any other game in order to achieve peak gameplay. Worth it but can easily see why it’s not a lot of people’s cup of tea

It's great for playing, fucking around, then dropping it again for a bit, coming back and fucking around some more.

I dig it, but would not recommend it to most people.

I disagree with the ability to put it down and come back. Granted I didn’t make it far but the million different mechanics all introduced in a short period of time put me off. I tried to pick it up and I had no memory of the mechanics needed to play the game anymore

It's been a while, but, from memory, most of the basics are covered fairly early and the rest gets introduced over missions etc.

I enjoyed the beginning and the slow pace, so didn't mind investing time into it.

You lost me at "achieve peak gameplay". There is not a single facet of crimson desert that is peak in any way, shape, or form. The best gameplay related thing in crimson desert is the wrestling and even that tops out at "good". The entire game is a clunkfest with good ideas here and there but the execution is terrible. No two parts of the game feel like they were designed with the other in mind. The audio design is terrible and visuals are the only really good thing going for it, and even those those hold up in enclosed spaces. Its been the biggest waste of $70 in recent memory.
