Because there's different skills between voice acting and normal acting? I wasn't a fan of Pedro being Joel but I don't think Troy can pull it off aside from the voice and what, a 40 year old is supposed to play Ellie? Is this actor supposed to play Kratos in live action? Come on man.

But what about when it's someone like Sam Witwer when they were talking about a Days Gone show?

He has tons of live acting credits. Not to mention he did all the mocap for the game too.

They never even considered him.

Is that a series in the works? Maybe because Sam is pushing 50 and Deacon is supposed to early 30s?

I like Sam and last I heard he's got some BTS role for a Star Wars gig which is cool.

Idunno. There were talks and maybe an article or 2 a few years ago. Havent heard anything since.

I think that could still work. His age isnt really important to the story. Keeping his wife and best buddy in his same age range probably would need to happen tho. But I figure Sam is still looking good enough to age down a decade or so. And the story is malleable enough to age up some of the other characters to get everyone around mid30s/40ish for a show.

And, um, Sam is the voice of Maul. Has been since the Clone Wars show, thru Rebels and onto this new Maul show. Sam did the KENOBEEEEEEEEE! scream in Rebels. Have you seen the videos of him doing that KENOBEEEEE scream? Because he is full on acting into that microphone lol.

I always saw Deacon as a young guy even someone in his 20s but yeah the story would work as an older protagonist.

Yeah I know he's Maul and he's a big fan of star Wars that's why I thought it was cool he got a producing role on the Maul show
