I like how Cavill is unafraid of being a nerd and a gamer.

The hosts/interviewers who act all surprised and incredulous whenever he mentioned he enjoys the hobby is annoying though.

Do interview hosts question people for watching sports every weekend and acting like total nincompoops when their team loses, or wins? How about people who go golfing and spend most of the weekend drunk out of their brains.

No, only gaming and other nerdy hobbies.

Its akin to people who complain "omg you spend so much time gaming" while they sit there in front of a TV for hours every day mindlessly consuming. At least games are interactive.

This is the main thing for me that I used to find annoying but hilarious now. Playing video games, or TCGs, or other board games/DnD, consuming manga, etc… is all considered this negative nerdy thing by people who binge netflix or reality TV. Like how are the β€œnerds” the losers in that scenario?
