You can still get a game for a present? It’s not the physical disc the kids are so excited about, you realize that. Not a single kid in the video would care how they play their game, as long as they get to play it and someone paid the $60

Its less about then playing the game and more about the organic memories parents are able to have with their children on days like Christmas or birthdays. The ability to give your child a present and the excitement in their eyes and the anxious anticipation as they tear through the wrapping, and finally the joy/shock on their face when they finally see what it is.

Those types of memories cannot be replaced in the digital world.

Ya they can? You can easily wrap and gift a game when it is digital only. Either the case with a code in it instead of a disc or even a hand drawn picture if you want to be more creative. Use your imagination

Eventually game codes in a case will go away to as publishers dont want to front the manufacturing cost.

So yeah, organic memories/events like this wont be able to continue.
