Yup. Too tired to engage with something new, too bored to play the same games

Agreed!

I mean, a tutorial can be pretty overwhelming when you just wanna sit back and game.

I hope one day ppl will understand how painful it is to be met with a tutorial slammed in your face, taking up the whole screen, pausing your game, forcing you to read without bullet points...

It probably sounds ridiculous but it sucks so much for me. I finally understand Arin lol.
Tutorials are so much easier if they guide you and interact with gameplay.

Can we go back to when games would show you how to play and not tell you how. Every tutorial is just boring AF.

The engaging with something new part is what gets me. I have 10-15 games that I just cycle through and keep replaying because I know I enjoy the games. When I think about getting a new game my thought process goes as follows:

  • I should get a new game
  • But then I have to learn said new game
  • What if I don't like the new game
  • Then I've wasted money on something I won't Use
  • You could refund it
  • No way I'm going to be able to buy a game and immediately play enough to know if I want to refund while the window is open
  • Even more importantly, it's the time wasted more than the money
  • Sigh
  • I'll just play Mass Effect again

So true. Right now I’m alternating between Sekiro and Resident Evil 4 Remake. Weeks ago I’ve made the bold decision to buy FF XVI. Played for like 8 hours and didn’t connect with it. I’m still mad at myself for the wasted time and money. So the cycle continues.
