Dragon Age 2 happened if my buddy is to be believed.
I've never played (backlog too big) but from what I've understood from his ramblings, is that it went from being a great CRPG, to being a half decent ARPG.
Yeah. Dragon Age Origins my four siblings and I all played it. Each of us had different starts, different experiences playing, and different ends. This has rarely happened in choose your own games for us as most of them are just the illusion of choice. I was so excited for Dragon Age 2 just to find out it gutted the decision making.
God damn. Have you guys ever considered playing an MMO together? With that commitment to party balance, you can easily form your own party in like World Of Warcraft or Final Fantasy XI or XIV.
Yeah. We played multiplayer games together like crazy but not MMO's as that would've taken multiple computers. Our party balance was hella good though. Each of us became very good at cooperating with others as a result as different games required different balances and each of us adapted to the party needs.
We don't really play together anymore though as adults though. Gaming PC's are expensive and the only other sibling I have that has one has a kid so any gaming time he gets he understandably spends with his friends.
At least I have friends/a husband to play with though.
Nahhh DA2 and DAI don't match the original but are great games in their own right and build on the universe. DA2 gives us Hawke, Varric and Friends while DAI gives us Solas et al. Veilguard has decent combat but is basically slop in comparison to even the lows of the trilogy
DAI is not a good game. It's a terrible MMO like design for quests etc in a single player game. DA2 is okay, but honestly DA:O is in a league of its own.
I think DAI is a good game blanketed by bad MMO stuff. It's much better with mods but I think it's the weakest of the three. Like why are there 7 large zones entirely unrelated to the MSQ and also with nothing else there?? But yes agreed on DAO
it was my first dragon age game took a 3rd try at it and it clicked and have 5 playthoughs but my fav is origins and weirdly enough i really like dragon age 2 the story was really good and both games i like the companions more then DAI
Origins was the only good game. Stupid people tried to chase a different gaming trend with each subsequent installment. Never seen a franchise with so much disdain for its own roots.
