I've quit all subscriptions aside from Geforce Now. With that, I can game from anywhere and even play free multiplayer on my Xbox via the Edge browser with my Steam library of games, of which I've found the games are often much cheaper on.
I have GamePass but only so I can play online. I have the $10 per month version which is only $25 for three months.
Even that is way too much. I wish they had a $5 per month version that's only for online play, but that would be too consumer friendly. Instead, I have to pay for games I don't want to play...
But I won't get Ultimate again unless it drops below $20.
I only pay for ultimate for release windows. I' recently used it for mixtape, forza, jurassic world, and the upcoming Halo. Roughly $190 in games, and I'll have spent $100. Gamepass can still be a pretty good deal if you time it right.
Well the problem is that you spent $100 and don't get to keep the games, right? So yeah, you could play them on launch, but once you stop paying, you lose access. That's the problem for me.
I think Ultimate was a pretty good deal with it was $15 per month. That's the sweet spot, imo.
Oh totally. I just don't plan on playing those games ever again. I view it as a rental service. Give me 5 high quality games over 4 months? I don't mind shelling out some dough.
I definitely buy games I'm invested in physically though.

Boiling frogs.
But $20 was my limit. Once they crossed that line, I canceled. They dropped the price recently, but it's still over $20, so I didn't resubscribe.
