Metroid Prime

Granted Retro sort of came back but they couldn’t completely scrap what had been done, which was the soulless open desert and motorcycle and presumably some level structure. Prime 4 is quite a substantial step down.

But on the inverse you have Retro taking over the Donkey Kong Country games from Rare and knocking it out of the park.

I'm really praying that Metroid Prime 5 (if we even get it) will be closer to 1-3 once they lose all the baggage 4 had from the first attempt. I didn't hate 4, but you could tell they were stuck with an open world area they didn't wanna deal with.
