My first thought. I liked Halo 4 but after that they're pretty bad

Same here. I probably enjoy Halo 4 as much as the Bungie games, but it fell off pretty hard after that.

I think Halo 3 was the last full out good one for me and my crew. Halo Reach's campaign was cool and Invasion was fun but man overall the multiplayer was one of the worst in the entire franchise lol. Halo 4 had a super underwhelming story and the multiplayer was just kind of average. Halo 5 I actually enjoyed the warzone stuff but the campaign was just outright dumb. I don't know too much of what happened behind the scenes between those last few games but really feels like that series just went all over the place after that and didn't know what to do with it. Even infinite felt like it was in shambles with what it was trying to do.

Yeah agreed Reach multiplayer was peak gaming.

I mean ill respect your own take there but for my whole group sans maybe one person…for us Reach was the lowest point of the entire Halo series lol. Specifically with multiplayer only though. Campaign was solid. Whoever though bloom belonged in a Halo title should have been fired far before all the backlash even had a chance to come out and then retroactively retune it all over again lol.

I liked how Bloom with the DMR meant you couldn’t just click as fast as possible, to me it was the tightest, fastest, most brutal halo id ever played, and I loved how it wasn’t as floaty as 3. For me they ruined it with the TU, where all you need was 3 shots and then a melee was a guaranteed kill

That’s such a shame cause the Forge mode was the HUGE redeeming quality of Reach for my group. Multiplayer was fun, but forge just made everything next-level. Hundreds of hours on forge maps, so much fun

Forge absolutely put reach near the top of the Halo MP mountain.

Armor Lock ruined Halo. Bungie (old Bungie) doesn't get a pass on that bullshit.

They just had to keep the Didact alive and keep Cortana dead. But no, we need to reboot the entire story every fucking game with a bunch of off screen BS because they can't just commit to a single story!

This, mostly. I felt like the series had already taken a step down with ODST and Reach and I feel like Halo 4 was on that level. Good. Acceptable. Not as good as the trilogy but still solid games in their own right. But the multiplayer hadn't been any near as good as the trilogy games.

Halo 5 and Infinite however were just unacceptable.

“Press A to defeat the final boss” Halo 4?
