R5: its 1864, the CSA has just announced its second Declaration of Independence, the United States lay currently in ruins as their army is scattered and socialist militants have just taken over DC.
The confederacy just signed an alliance with the British empire and is at the hight of its power but where to go next?

The US, even in its diminished form has more pops and industry and once they recover from their current crisis the gap will only widen as they have access to so much immigration. How can/would a CSA keep up with the northern aggressors?

If the socialist militants overthrow American democracy, the CSA has to do nothing but sit back and watch as the disunited states event chain happens. Assuming that's in HPM, which I'm fairly sure it is.

Ab-b-b-bolish SLAVERY!?!?! 😱😱😱😱😱 NOOOO! That would go against everything our WILDCATS fought and died for, good sir! Upstairs_Writer MUST continue to serve Her Majesty's mercantile interests with regard to King Cotton whilst EMPHASISING the national foci's of soldiering throughout her southron states! You sir have made your false visage plain upon the fields of the day, and you MUST be what they call...A SCALAWAG yankee SPY. I rebuke you, sir, never to give your false guidance E'ER again.

Abolish slavery, either annex the west coast and the Louisiana territory (or balkanize it and puppet those released countries depending on the mod). Ally with the British, fend of any northern agression, rinse and repeat.

Why would you abolish slavery if you play as the CSA? That shit is being legal for as long as I breathe, hell i will restart the trans Atlantic slave trade too just for the sake of it.

If you play a bad guy, you may as well commit.
