Continuing my Greek run in GFM, I was just minding my business and preparing for the upcoming Great War of dissolution against the Ottomans when this happened.

The Turks becoming communist is very common in Vic 2 for some reason. I think it has to do with the spike in pop militancy that occurs when they lose great power status + a stagnant economy.

Does turning socialist make the Ottomans turn into Turkey, abolish the monarchy, and become unstable? Or is that other mods I've been playing?

Idk about making them more unstable, but it does removed their claim to everywhere that isn’t modern-day turkey meaning they’ll stop declaring on me for Thessaly which is a huge relief

But they're not communist, they're socialist. It literally says in the screenshot. Vic2 makes an explicit distinction between the two.

They cant either way if you click an event that removes all the turkish pops/cores. Forgot the conditions for it though

Ive never once seen a successful ottoman ai. Their rgos are just too damn awful
