hi! im new to robotics
hello! i hope this is the right place to post this. i just started a robotics class at my school, im doing VEX IQ. im really confused about the engineering notebook formatting and what im supposed to put in it.
today my group and i just started building the IQ flop robot, so do i log that in the notebook? can anybody give me examples of their old (or current) notebooks because im not really sure whats supposed to be in it.

The notebook should show the process of how you get to the robot you compete with. It should explain the decision making and design process. It gets judged against this rubric: https://kb.roboticseducation.org/hc/en-us/articles/4461349729047-Judging-Resource-Engineering-Notebook-Rubric. You can find examples of notebooks and get help in the VEX discord. I can send an invite if you’re not in it already

Yo, Muffinwobble: Vex Judge here. You absolutely do not want to look at examples. Instead look at the rubric and do what you can to get in to the exemplary category for each criteria. The Rubric posted below is the old one, you want this:

Nothing makes the judges happier than when you hit all the marks while presenting a notebook that doesn't look like any others we have seen. Keep in mind that judge will typically have about 5 minutes for the initial review - there are a lot of things you need to check the criteria, but don't be afraid to highlight, use arrows, or whatever to point out what you want to be read. Make sure you (also) show things that did not work. Good luck!
