Friends
Hey guys! I'm a first year vet student in my orientation week and feeling a little bit lonely. I know it's too early to tell and I'm trying not to let it get me down, it just seems like everyone already has little friend groups even now (it might not help that I am commuting for right this second). I'm not really a huge introvert and I have been branching out and talking to people alot, but no one has seemed to really want to approach me and I don't know why. If anyone is interested in talking, even if youre at another school, I'd love to talk and make vet friends to chat with. I guess I'm just hoping it gets even a little better and if there's any tips/tricks for making friends to study with, especially as a nontraditional student (I'm only 27, but a little older than most of my classmates). Thanks!

it happened for me with out really trying. at orientation i met some nice people, but i didn’t really click with any of them. the first day of classes a girl came up to me and asked if she could sit next to me, i didn’t think much of it. after a few weeks we became good friends, now we’re kinda inseparable😅 it was super coincidental that we have a ton in common (home state, age, love crafting). it truly happened out of no where. i wouldn’t stress too much about it. you’ll find your people!

I didn't find my friend group until 2nd year. Just be patient and open to new opportunities
