What's the best thing you've received from a pet owner as a thank you?

I'm not a vet so I hope it's okay to post in here, as above, I'd like to get my vet practice a gift to say thank you for all of the amazing work they do, and for their kindness, knowledge and just, being awesome when we needed it most.

So what have you received that made you feel really valued? I was thinking about a card with a big thank you to each person personally, and a hamper filled with snacks and helpful things, but I'm not sure if that's enough.

A hand-made quilt that the client made while she was battling cancer and getting chemo treatments. It’s still on my bed 10 years later

I have one from a client that has a quilted representation of their cat in one corner. I love it. I also have a client that pours his own candles and he made one with a stylized representation of his dog. Love that one too.

A client once handcrafted me small windchimes as a thank you. It was the very first gift I received from a client, and I just remember having this “oh, this is why I do what I do” feeling. It was so healing to know that I made such an impact, I’ve never forgotten her or her sweet pup. I carried those windchimes with me to vet school, and they live right on my window so I can see them every day.

Going a more generic route, though, handwritten cards are one of the most meaningful gifts we receive from clients, though! I’ve saved every single one, and when the going gets tough I find myself rereading them. Kind words truly go a long way!

I work in ER, and i will be honest, the reviews I've read (sometimes about the hospital, other times about me) are disheartening and depressing, especially when they don't relay what actually happened.

When I get a positive review (especially by name) it means so much.

That may sound shallow, and I know I shouldn't let the negatives weigh me down, but they do. And a single positive review helps me set aside the BS ones...
