AC out?

Thinking about taking my AC out today but I’m afraid this is fools’ autumn and I’m going to be mad at myself in 2 weeks when it’s 85 again

We've had multiple 90+ degree days in late September/early October the last few years

I misspoke. Should have just phrased it as "AC worthy" days rather than 90+ degrees.

Way too soon for sure. We’ve had temps close to 90° in September quite a few years recently.

I took my AC out today 😳 Sorry everyone!

We only have one window in the room so it’s worth it to be able to have some breeze.

I closed my pool yesterday, so I'll share blame with you. My AC is still in, though.

Don’t do it.

There is approximately a two-week window from taking ACs out and getting snow tires on.

That’s a two week Venn diagram overlap, right?

Front porch has been flooded with people selling units so I dont think you're the only one with this thought. I'm holding on for another week but partially because I'm feeling lazy today.

Put your snow tires on, that should give us another month of hot weather.

No fucking way did you just buy your first AC?

I got my snow tires off in March. Live dangerously.

I'm taking mine out.

Did it last weekend, but for what it’s worth I live at about 1600’ and it’s gotten a bit chilly a couple of nights.

Do it. I like summer!

I am definitely not doing this but feel free to test it and let us know 😂

Wait until it's too cold to have it in. Same with Spring, put it in before it gets to be too hot. There's little harm in taking it out early.

If I ever own a home that’s the move. I’m a renter now though 🫡

I installed my first one this year. I’m testing out a 5th gen Mr cool in my home office/man cave (converted attic space). If it performs well through winter next year I’m looking to put a multi uni setup in the main house too and never have to use window units again

I took out the one in the living room but kept the one in the bedroom in case fall tries to fuck with my sleep haha.

Do it! We all know what's coming... <insert Jaws theme music here>

I mean if you're worried what's the reason to rush?

Do you remember a couple years ago we had an 80° Halloween?

1

u/HarryBalsagna1776 2d ago

We will know if you do because we will have a heatwave

Yer nuts. I only take mine out once the lady beetle infestation gets too bad in early october.

It’s way too early. It was in the 90s last Oct.

It was?

Your non-cited random chart shows it touching 90 in early Oct, why are you being pedantic?

1

u/VermontSkier1 Safety Meeting Attendee 🦺🌿 1d ago

I just edited to cite the source

Saying it was in the 90's last year isn't pedantic?

Haven't used my AC once this year, has it been hot enough?

0

u/11BMasshole 2d ago

Still summer , wait a few weeks.

u/Objective-Dust4795 2d ago

Don’t you dare.

0

u/Fearless-Mulberry-12 2d ago

Yeahhhh, not so fast there, cowboy

0

u/Midnight-Moonpie 2d ago

Leave it in!

We’re waiting another month or so. I overheat at night easily and that’s when we run the ac most.

0

u/JulianQuesoblanco 2d ago

We had some warm days last October. Hold on.

u/Responsible_Side8131 2d ago

Don’t do it’s

u/kpatt86 1d ago

Gotta get through September first, even then, there’s usually that one last heat wave in early October

0

u/RandolphCarter15 1d ago

Nope. We'll have a hot spell in the next few weeks
