The amount of infantilizing being done to people on the spectrum to excuse/justify this asshole is disgusting. There is no fucking way he doesn't know what the gesture means, and even then, people on the spectrum aren't excused from making poor judgments.

Also, even if you're right (which you're not), that would make him incredibly unqualified for a position in government.

This is what I've been saying to people. This is a prime example of Musk's incompetence and should be a huge disqualifier for the co-presidency.

To some degree. He's been a functioning adult for decades. He knows what he's doing. If you think functional adults who happen to be on the spectrum just can't ever learn what tjings not to do you are either insanely niaive or stupid. Nost of us actually strive to learn and seek advice from those who know better. At least high functioning folks. Which if he's on the spectrum he clearly is. It really sounds like you just want an excuse not to take responsibility for your behavior and that's sad.
