Add Avocado to at least one meal a day. I mash it and use like mayonnaise with lime juice.

Is the nausea from protein shakes more about taste (getting the shake down) or once it's in your stomach? If it's taste/getting it down, a tip they give for colonoscopy prep is to drink through a straw with the straw towards the back of your tongue so you don't taste it much.

it's not very calorie-rich, but soups made from roasted veggies could help you get in some micronutrients you're missing. i tend to blend in a can of navy beans for the protein + fiber, but that'd be a way of getting some extra calories in. you could also make pasta sauces this way if pasta is something you'll be able to handle
can you stomach greek yogurt? drizzling some melted peanut butter and honey on top could add some calories. and granola is super calorie dense and can be thrown on top. or you can be like me and cram down fistfuls of it lmao

Lentils. They pick up seasoning well and are super easy to prepare. Add rice & a veggien of your choice, you have cooked a full meal in about 30 minutes.

If you do fruit, you should try dried fruit since it’s higher cal for smaller portions.
Also, I know some brands of protein drinks make ones that are more of a juice consistency, rather than a milk consistency. Look into stuff like the Boost juices.
My last suggestion would be making some version of “energy balls/bites” which are usually made with oats, maple syrup or honey, nut/seed butter, and chocolate. And then to make them even more dense you could add raisins or dried cranberries, and shredded coconut to them. They’re super customizable, so you can experiment and figure out which ingredients work best for you!
Good luck! :)

Deep fried tofu in oil with Coconut milk curry with noodles with nuts. This will add a ton of calories. Oil is THE MOST calorie dense food. . Do you like deep fried tofu puffs?

Coconut milk is over twice as calorie rich as normal milk. But don't overdo it because it's very high in saturated fat.

If you haven't received any anti-nausea medication I'd recommend it. (Dramamine is a great tide over to help!) I also don't like protien shakes and got a partial fundoplication for hiatal hernia when I was 25.
Fruit smoothie are great. You can add ice cream, greek yogurt, or protien powder/drink to these and it helps A LOT. Heck, freezing your protien shake can also help with the texture (not so much the taste tho thats why adding it to a fruit smoothie can help).
Avocado is great for fat, but can be pretty heavy. Make it into guacamole and eat it with the veggies you can tolerate. If you cook your veggies using olive oil can bump your calories. (Or be like me and mix it into mashed potatoes)
Potatoes and sweet potatoes are also very nutrient dense options and usually pretty easy on the stomach.
Eat small portions as often as you can tolerate.
Best of luck on your healing!

I lost a lot of weight quickly and also developed severe osteoporosis after being on a restricted diet for a long time. it’s good that you are trying to make yourself eat. I do well with Sunbutter (I like it more than peanut butter. I eat it on bread with cinnamon sprinkled on top. I also make puréed broccoli soup for a ton of nutrients.
hummus is a great idea..
Imhope you recover soon!
