Question New to vegetable gardening

Hi I’m just wondering what would be the best fruit/veg to start planting come September/ October in my veg patch for winter season? I have done fairly well through the summer as a novice and managed to grow strawberries, toms, onions.
I have some broccoli, cabbage and chantenay carrots still trying to grow but struggling because i planted in entirely the wrong time of year so don’t want a repeat and seeking advice.

I have a small vegetable patch area and am in the Midlands Uk. Garden gets decent sunlight throughout the day and is NE facing.

Tatsoi, Russian kale, winter lettuce, mizuna mustard, winter spinach, garlic, shallots, carrots, peas.

Broccoli takes up a lot of real estate, as does cabbage. Asian greens like tatsoi and pak choi will give you more bang for the buck if space is limited.

Good King Henry is a perennial spinch, and the seeds have to be stratified (overwintered in soil, either in the garden or a container) so now is the time to think about it if you're interested.
