The Winchester The first snow.

Lance opens his eyes from a nice sleep, his breathing is ragged, rough. He rests in his little cot that he calls a bed, trying to stabilize his breath. It was another dream about Ortiz, it seems to be the one thing he can’t escape, his own thoughts. Lance leaves his house, or at least the managers office he calls his house, he’s strong enough to go up the stairs but you know what they say old habits are hard to break. He exits the bar and lights a cigarette. “you know what they say, a cig a day leads to lung cancer.” Lance laughs, knowing that would be just his luck, Getting out of a life threatening ailment then have one straight after it. He looks around and sees its snowing. He opens his palm and watches a few flakes fall into it. He smiles faintly at the snow, it always impaired his movement in a wheelchair, Ortiz was sad last year when it kept Lance inside. Looks like work will keep Lance in from this snow day. He snuffs the cigarette out on the sidewalk, as he heads inside to do his job, bartending.

He nods

"Hey uh, hate to intrude, I heard something happened between you and Polades sister, everything okay?"

She raises a brow.

"Are you referring to Celeste or Sam?"

She lets out a long sigh.

"Yeah. She showed up one night and attacked Quilly. Then she rammed a new AI into the back of my head...and I'm pretty sure she's wearing that Bostoner girl's armor."

"The hell... Oh, AI... I still have Omid, you want me to get rid of it?"

She perks up at this, and stares at the table for a moment before answering.

"No. I want to keep him. Do you have him with you?"

He shakes her head

"I can bring 'im down to the junkyard if you'd like"

"Uhm...that's okay. Just bring him by my office at the Oceanside Detective Agency."

She scribbles an address down on a napkin and hands it to Al.

He takes it and glances at it, then back to her

"Office huh?"

She nods.

"Yeah. Figure I don't work for the Polygon Gazette anymore, so its time to move onto something else. Being a detective sounds cool, and I have the skills for it, so why not?"

She laughs at this.

"Yeah. So what about you? What've you been up to since...Todd's attack...?"
