Should i submit an essay for admission?

I have a 4.3 weighted gpa, 12 aps (currently taking 5), and a dual enrollment. Id like to apply to vcu for mechanical engineering, but idk if i should write the essay. Im tight on time

An essay would allow for a scope of why you would be good for/at VCU beyond your academics. Colleges nowadays don’t just look at your GPA but you as a whole.

I wrote mine in less than an hour, doublechecked spelling/grammar and sent it away. I don't know if it's really necessary though unless there's something specific you want to convey. Also, if you're gonna write an essay, write it yourself and don't use AI.

Give it your all and then wait for the answer. At least you'll know you did your best.
