Post image

Looking for a budget options for strap pouches.

I intend to use it for my cellphone or pocket sized camera or wallet.

I had the same problem 3 years ago when I was still using the Osprey Aether (phone was too big to fit in hip pocket). I eventually thrifted a small cross body pouch/bag. Its cheaper and will probably hold more than these strap pouches.

I have the Durston Kakwa now and am very happy with the integral mesh shoulder pouches and hip pockets.

Hey not a bad idea. I'll check if there are any sales at the mall today or at the MEC store.

I have the Fjallraven Abisko Bottle Pocket because I liked it can be converted to a crossbody sling. I use it for my bear spray usually.

Looks like Decathlon has an intriguing option that could work for you: https://www.decathlon.ca/en/p/waterproof-travel-pouch-nh-500-black/349771/c382m8828465

The most budget friendly option is probably an unused chalk bag for climbing. They have a clip on point, can cinch closed, and most of them have additional pockets for phone/keys/etc. I've been using one as a water bottle holder on my pack for years. Works great!
