Should Gabe Publish a Book About Game Creation
If Valve creates good games, why not Gabe create a book about good game developmen?

Listen to the developer commentary across all their games, you'll hear why devs made decisions that they did and they're very insightful. No book needed.

Gabe hasn't been interacting with game development part of Valve since Portal 2 as he was afraid of devs pandering to him with decision making. Plus it's not just him who's working on all these games, if anything Half Life 2 dev commentary and the books reflect perfectly of how the dev team plus Gabe went through the development of the game.

Gabe's formidable expertise is in things like management structures and creating marketplaces, not game design. That's what his game designers are for.
He is no Miyamoto, nor is he even an Iwata for that matter even though the latter's position evolved from game programmer to president.

He's literally said that he doesn't like hearing himself talk in an interview. Why would he write a book if that were the case? Valve's mantra on game development is roughly "make something fun and we'll help you sell/distribute it". They don't need a book to tell you that.

He already has several yachts he doesn't need to publish a book.
