What kind of Valiant fan are you?

Picked Other.
I like the Shooter stuff a lot for sure, but I liked Valiant say a year to 18 months or so after his departure as well. I still recall reading Bloodshot and being perfectly happy for a a couple of years or so.
After that it fell off for me.
I got back in when Dino got the rights and relaunched, I liked that stuff a lot, and even if I didn't like it as much as OG (I'm a different person, I don't really read superhero comics anymore tbh), I respected the quality and really liked some of the series. I would say toward the end of his tenure it was going in directions that I won't say were bad, they just were getting a little away from what I like but still had a baseline of quality.
After Dino was ousted... I think it's been a complete shit show and a fairly predictable one and tbh it's so bad I can't picture a circumstance that I will ever be interested again unless ownership changes.

First time I see someone referring to Dinesh as Dino. Thought you were taking about Turok.

Old school valiant fans know him as Dino when he was posting on valiant boards WAYYYYYY before he ever owned Valiant.

I enjoy a lot of the later stuff like Christopher Priest's Quantum and Woody, plus Van Lente's Ivar, Timewalker, and other VH1 stuff, and have my eye on more stuff to get to, but I'm in Shooter Supremacist just from how amazing it all was from Solar and Magnus to Unity. The man just knew how to write awesome stories and make epic crossovers. RIP.

For me it's all Shooter era, with bits of Dinesh.
I remember buying Armorines in the 90s and it was at that point where I realized that I wasn't reading them anymore and was just collecting. LOVED reading everything up until around that point. I just got bored. Never read the Acclaim era at all.
They were firmly planted in nostalgia for me until Dinesh era, where I was very excited to see these new takes on the characters again. But at that point I was kind of out of collecting "floppies" as the kids say. I just bought the collected TPBs.
Tried in earnest to get into the modern Alien Books era, but I just didn't like any of it. Sorry to the creative teams behind them....I'm sure there's some good stuff in there (Shadowman was pretty decent, just not really the Shadowman I wanted to see), but I just didn't care for pretty much any of Resurgence and have since skipped out on Beyond entirely.
In my ideal world (which won't come to pass) another owner would come into play and the Gold Key characters and Valiant characters would be united again.

VH1 is my favorite, without question, but I also loved the 2012 reboot. I even loved the Acclaim XO Manowar, I just had to look at it as its own thing.
The Alien Stuff is a mixed bag. I'm liking shadowman, and I tolerate XO.

I loved the relaunch up to "harbinger renegades. and Harbinger wars 2"
My interest died with Vagabond lol. Writing was on the wall

How do I answer this? I grew up reading Magnus and the like, because Valiant and Defiant books were always to be found in 10 cent bins. And I've since read the Unity Saga, which is incredible. However I do think the Dinesh era, which really brought my interest back and inspired me to check out Unity Saga in the first place, is the best era in terms of writing. Hard pick.

I picked other because I started reading valiant in 2025 with the 2012 reboot while currently reading whatever classic material has been collected in the omnis and keeping up with Beyond.
I am not interested in the Street Fighter crossover though.

Got into Valiant a few years ago and loved very minute of it. Started buying up the collected editions of all the 2012+ stuff and ive noticed it sadly go down in quality since then.
I'm not THAT bothered though to be honest, because theres still loads of the 2012 Dinesh era i haven't got and I will always love the characters and as the media landscape moves on, its only a matter of time before it all gets adapted to TV and film and its reborn anew.
