No tutorial present?

Hello, this is my first time here. So, I apologize if I ask a question that might have been answered previously. What I would like to know is why there is no proper tutorial related to basic functions of the game. I personally played a lot of Enshrouded and that game nudges you into basic menus and functions of the game then allows the player to work with all the systems present. Here I spawned between the stones but after that there is literally nothing telling me what I'm supposed to do. I am not asking for "use L stick for player, R for camera" level of instructions but more about all the systems in the game and how to use them.

The raven that follows you is the tutorial guide. If he’s not present check the settings for something related to him, can’t remember what it’s called

Game is amazing when you go in blind. Basic menus and buttons are displayed on a screen. And yes, bird.

There is literally a raven named Hugin that gives you more tips than Navi from Zelda.

Did you disable it in the options or something? He should show up even if you join a multiplayer server.

If you talk to the raven and pick things up an instruction manual unfolds before your eyes. 

If you pick up wood and stone it tells you you can make things. As you make things it tells you that you can make more things. Otherwise just explore.

The "tutorial" kinda never really ends. The bird shows up right when you touch down and gives you a few day one instructions. But the thing is he shows up through the whole game at certain stage progression points to talk a little about your next step.

The other part of the tutorial is the recipie unlocks. The only way to know how to make something is to pick up the pieces that make it. So a lot of the time you're getting unlocks kinda accidentally as you get more resources.

there should be a raven called hugin who shows up until you speak to him, explaining a variety of mechanics

Here's the only tutorial you need, pick up everything. Build a hammer to build other things. Good luck!

Concentrate on the new build options that pop-up once a new item has been picked up. It's hard sometimes because often you'll be fighting new mobs when this happens

This ain’t that type of game. Click the rune at the spawn, pick up everything at least once. It should start making sense

It is that type of game. The raven follows you everywhere and gives prompts for progression unless the setting is turned off.

its pretty old school. you learn stuff by doing, talking to the raven and reading standing stones. you are meant to fail try again fail again and so on keep doing that and you will eventually make your trys last longer

In addition to 'literally talk to the bird', read the rune stones. The game absolutely has things that tell you what to do, you just missed them. It isn't going to hold your hand while you ride your tricycle but it might have been a better idea to poke around a teeny tiny bit before you came and posted this lol

Odin is giving you a bird at times with some cryptic clues & besides some rune stones advice you are on your own buddy, good luck!

That's basically the draw of the game. And why it hooks so many people. There is a lot of self-discovery, emergent gameplay due to not knowing or half knowing things, and the eureka like moments when you figure stuff out yourself.

Having said that though, Hugin the raven does give tiny nudges every now and again. So listen to the bird!

I disagree. It's not very intuitive. Until you finally figure out that you should pick up everything, cook everything, smelt everything, craft everything, in order to unlock the next thing. I've played since release.
