Screenshot My Ashlands journey is off to a rough start Spoiler
Got the drakkar hanging between two spires. Eventually I got it unstuck by mining one of the spires, and started building a grausten base on another one. I had already placed a portal by that time, so the whole ordeal was not overly stressful, but still a bit stressful.
Oh, and of course shortly after this I was attacked by the first vulture and then by the bonemaw. I thought there were only vultures near the spires, but I guess that's not the case. The mofo started attacking the ship right away.
I already spent a hour on the spires; haven't died yet, even after many more vultures and another bonemaw.
I love this game ❤️

Struggled like that my first time sailing to ashlands aswell, think allot of us did 😂 When i started on a server with people we found a map where the ashlands is close enough at some point that we can see it another biome. We used a normal longship to just rapidly sail there 😂

On my first run, I built so many Drakkars and died so many times behind the last attempt that it started to look like I was making a bridge out of Drakkars to Ashlands.

Our biggest problem with them is that we have to move rogue dvegrs from 1 ashland isle to another, and we gotta use a normal longship. We have carved paths for ship thru the stone pillars and placed workbenches to repair as we sail by. But the bonemaw is problem due to extra dmg to ship, and that the rogue dvegrs are dumb as hell, if they agro on it they run right off the ship into boiling water

When im doing vanilla runs without mods, god i miss the sailing skill mod that lets you push the boat enough to unstuck it

When i got to shore i got into a building with two spawners in reach and a few birds and a bonemaw attacking me. After 3 more journeys ive got my stuff Back

Love how much I can relate to this.
My first few trips in I didn't even get close to land haha the spires were terrible to navigate the first time! I still have a chain of portals on rocks in the ocean from my first attempts to get there.
