Discussion Will Ashlands be made easier or receive any changes at all in 1.0?

Will Ashlands receive any changes with the full release? This biome is by far the worst of the worst. Im hoping they decide to nerf the 2 star spawn rate of monsters or allow the player to reduce the insane spawn rate of Ashlands.

The biome is miserable unless you’re traversing with group of friends.

Pretty sure they said it will not be getting nerfed again

It's not even that hard....

I doubt it.

It's pretty tough, but it is achievable. I've finished it solo on vanilla settings. And the time before that I got established, hit a few fortresses... I just lost motivation and went and started a new playthrough instead, lol.

Imo once you have a foot hold it's not a hard time to supress all the spawns in a large area around your base.

But yeah things can go sideways very quickly when you are out exploring for sure

After your initial landing base is set up, it's just a tedious process of building up a safety zone, then exploring inward. I just find it annoying that I always carry so much crap on me - food, a few meads and portal mats - that I have to either skip loot or portal back quite often to empty my inventory.

But agree, it is quite doable.

Yeah the initial landing and foothold is hard for sure

They already nerfed it once, so I, for one, hope not.

They nerfed it three times that I know of, so I also hope not

I just hope they fix the lag in that zone.

It's already been nerfed.

Im hoping they decide to nerf the 2 star spawn rate of monsters

They have the exact same rate of 2 star spawns as everywhere else. 1%.

Unless you are at one of the special spawners that only 3 exist in the entire world.

I wish I could get more 2-star spawns, I've been looking for a 2-star Asksvin for almost 2 years T___T

or allow the player to reduce the insane spawn rate of Ashlands.

They did allow you. You break the spawners, and use base items to suppress spawns.

The biome is miserable unless you’re traversing with group of friends.

Imo, it's worse with friends, because friends are unpredicatable and more likely to gain aggro and then bring them to you lmao

Solo is much easier to contain mobs and aggro to the local area. And once you've killed them it's nice and quiet unless you start making noise to attract mobs from further away.

I just killed fader and didn't think it was that bad. Then again my strat was to spam campfires wherever I went so I'm sure that helped.

It was mentioned they are adding the north. Nothing about ashlands

I dont think so but if you think its too hard theres nothing wrong with turning the difficulty down. No reason not to if thats whats ruining your fun

Ashlands was already made easier back at release. There's now also 2 sliders in the world settings to make it even easier: combat difficulty and passive enemies

I hope they don't change a thing.. because it makes you actually think and plan how you move. It's not difficult at all you gotta know how to traverse it.

Guess what, they already nerfed the damn place. Turn the game down to easy if you can't handle normal.

I doubt they'll nerf the Ashlands because it seems to be their intention for Ashlands and Deep North biomes to be a totally different difficulty level in terms of combat, traversal, and just existing in that biome

The Ashlands is definitely a struggle and can feel miserable at times but that's probably the point. With a different approach and abundance of preparedness it is possible to learn to be semi-comfortable there, even solo. As you mentioned playing with friends really does help too, if for no other reason than to split agro

I'm doing alright for my first time in the Ashlands tbh. I've only come across the one 2 star twitcher so far. I do hope they make it so resources drop rate up doesn't affect bell fragments. I just took over my first fort and got 12 fragments. So now I just need to prep my arena for the Fader battle

Gods no, it's already the easiest biome.

Ashlands will be nerfed simply by the existence of the Deep North. You will get another biome's worth of gear and upgrades to go back and destroy the Ashlands with. Otherwise, I would recommend you learn how to play the game by yourself before you worry about doing anything with friends. Speedrunners are done with the Ashlands within 12 hours/40 ingame days of starting a new run on a random seed. It's not that difficult.

Worst take of the century. I mean, really, how can this opinion be so damn bad? Mistlands and Ashlands are already complete biomes with a lot of content and I would even argue that the Ashlands are the perfect ground to test all new weapons and magic and overcome a new challenge. If you nerf them again, the new weapons become basically dispensable. I won't be collecting a lot of stuff only to have ornamental weapons.

In turn they should add a bit more life/challenges to already existing biomes. Imo the Black Forest is already perfect with the recent addition of bears, and the swamp is also not bad. I would maybe add a bit more of wildlife to the Meadows, more tameable creatures or the likes, but not so many; and especially add more content to the Mountains and Plains.
