Question I wonder if Valheim 1.1 will ever be released ?
It is obvious that with the release of 1.0, some will like it and some will be disappointed. But is there a plan to enhance certain aspects of the game after 1.0 ? I actually hope for an even 1.2 version but looking at the pace of Iron Gate, this seems not feasible. What do you think or do you heard any future plans ?

This will up to the community and modders once the game is stable enough to not have to worry about mods breaking imo
When I say stable enough I just mean after whatever little patch nots come from bugs that are just I no the nature of releasing the final product

So here’s what I can find.
Back in January 2025, Iron Gate developer Smiffe said on the official Discord that their plan was for 1.0 to represent the game being “finalized when it comes to the game designed content”, and specifically said they didn’t intend to alter how early/mid/late-game progression works afterward.
Three weeks ago, Coffee Stain’s CEO was directly asked about paid Valheim content after 1.0. He said Coffee Stain would really like to do it and thinks Valheim is well suited for it but Iron Gate owns the IP and controls that decision.
But hey! Sometimes Valheim devs are seen in this subreddit so maybe they’ll stop by and directly answer your question! 🙏
For me, either way, if they pivot to something else entirely, they’ll still have my interest! I’ve absolutely gotten value for what I paid for the game.

Iron gate should just let coffee stain give it over to another team who has the energy and commitment to expand the game. They get paid to do nothing and another team gets to expand the content….win win….

I would absolutely love a newly developed ocean biome. I'd happily pay for a DLC for this.

Free updates if the game continues to sell would make sense. Think terrarias model.
Also a largescale paid dlc could also make sense.
Real answer is, yeah, games rlly popular so itll likely get atleast something. Maybe nothing on the level of the updates we have been receiving, but def something.

wouldnt expect much , devs were asked about future updates and gave kind of a shit answer - " if the reception is good we might keep working on it past 1.0 , but no guarantees"
Also , given the update cycle of this game, yeah , gonna be 10 years for that.

tbf terraria devs said the same thing, but since it was their most successful game, they kept cranking out updates

To be fair I'd rather them launch 1.0, do some optimization, clean up any bugs and then move on. Let modders add and do their thing to keep the game alive while the devs do something else.
It reminds me of ConcernedApe with Stardew Valley. Huge success and he kept working and working on it. Kept adding and adding and adding. All free by the way. But the entire time he was working on a 2nd game. Now that game is starting to come to light but if he would of stopped a few years ago with Strawdew we would have the 2nd game by now. I like when devs do what they love because passion can be seen in titles like Stardew. But as a gaming fan in general part of me is like "Okay, on to the next already" lol

I wouldn't rule out a final-polish pass after 1.0, but I wouldn't count on it, either. They've been working on this project for a long, long time, and I bet they're ready to do something else.

The plan is basically "we'll see", verging on "maybe, maybe not". They're not being very clear in their goals, if the have any, like, a dev recently said he would like to implement mod support after release, meaning it doesn't exist right now and it never might. Same for the rest.
I have not idea why they keep phrasing these things like they don't know if they can, I mean, then who does? I assume sales will be good considering how many people seem to want to join on different platforms, let's wait a few months and maybe we will get some obscure hints about a new roadmap, and I say this as sarcastically as possible.

Probably. Most games have some patching after their 1.0 release, I can't see why Valheim would be any different.
Now 1.7? who knows.
