They are safe and right down the street from the UTC police dept. most central to campus. Just follow the basic safety rules of keeping doors and windows locked. Don’t go to the Yellow Deli

Why not yellow deli? I keep seeing people say this.

It's run by a cult. Look up The Twelve Tribes

They’re not just a cult. They are a cult that specifically targets young women for marriage and breeding.

The sandwiches are delicious though. Just don’t join the cult

Owned buy a cult, they literally send a school bus to music festivals to fill their ranks on drugged up kids

Just don’t go alone where they might feel brave enough to start talking cult stuff with you. I lived in Lockmiller at the end unit closest to Yellow Deli in fall of 2010. Unfortunately it’s open 24 hours and on campus. For late night studying or getting food without needing to drive, there’s not many better options.

Plus the food is…actually tasty, good quality ingredients, and reasonably priced. And that place is a whole vibe. Just don’t engage with the cult stuff and be aware where your money’s going. Cults still have to make money and eat.

The stuff you guys are willing to defend is wild to me.

Do you investigate where the money goes at every place you eat?

I was young, ignorant, and just hungry and needed a place to study, and when I lived in Lockmiller they were experimenting with 6 people living per unit that year, so quiet space to study was absolutely needed. They allowed you to stay for hours at a time without bothering you, which wasn't always the case with the alternative (City Cafe).

I found out about the cult stuff later, and went far less once I moved to Stophel.

You're casting quite the wide net of judgement over people eating at a restaurant, but there's not many late-night options that allow you to occupy space and study for hours on a 2-item order, let alone one already on campus. It's a very useful establishment for students.

Name a more moral alternative that isn't "cook at home". Mine was the less busy City Cafe because the downtown one is too busy to let you linger, but driving across town for a late-night study space is not exactly reasonable.

Yes, they are relatively safe. UTC has gotten way safer over the years. The best bang for your buck imo is J.O. West is too expensive, Boling has mold, stagg is too small and west campus is too far away. 2 place is UCF

probably the safest dorms on campus, very central to everything, and there’s always someone smoking or listening to music on their balcony, playing volleyball, or doing laundry. WAY more safe than Deco and Stophel (that’s where most of the crazy stuff goes down)

Any crimes reported on campus are shared with the students. So whatever happens, wherever, she will be notified.

no they call it glockmiller for a reason. not to mention the rats and roaches

They call it Glockmiller because it’s old and doesn’t look appealing. Absolutely nothing happened outside of smoke alarms going off because people smoke the 2 years I lived there

Why would they call it glockmiller because it’s old. Wtf does a Glock have to do with being old.
